The one thing that shocked me most about recruiting—and you need to hear it.

I am beyond tired of the endless ‘People First’ talk in hospitality—when for some companies, it’s just smoke and mirrors.

Onstage, it’s all smiles and promises, but backstage?

A completely different theater.

If you preach ‘People First,’ then act like it.

A new (potential) client reached out last week and wants to hire the best—yet is offering peanuts.

So, I told them straight: 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Underpaying your people?

That’s not people first.

Or how many times have I seen this still happening?

Letting the hiring process drag on for weeks when the best candidate is ready…

That’s definitely not people first.

It sends the message that people don’t matter.

So when talent walks through your door, be the one that recognizes its real value.

Your actions shape how the entire industry is perceived.

The world is changing, and people are awakening.

‘People First’ isn’t a performance.

𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲.

Without trust, the curtain falls, the spotlight dims—and as far as I know, no one wants to be the monkey in the circus.

Faithfully,

A New Age Recruiter Who’s Seen Enough to Know We Can Do Better.
